About My Library

I use LibraryThing to record my reading, not just the books I own. Most of the books on my LibraryThing account are (or were once) physically on my bookshelves; others I've borrowed from the library, friends or whatever. My ratings are entirely personal and do not represent considered judgements about literary merit, hence a book that I loved as a nine year-old might get five stars and a 'great novel' with which I struggled might only rate two stars.

5* Books I can't live without; will have read most several times. Also books of special personal and sentimental interest and books I consider important within a limited specialized subject range.

4* Excellent and highly recommended.
3* A good read.
2* Ho-hum...
1* Wish I'd spent the time reading something else.
