Dear Sean, I've just finished reading Chasing the Rising Sun and saw your comments on it. (It doesn't show in my catalog because I have a whole separate catalog for books from the library.) I agree with you about the quality of the writing and the fascination of the subject. I described it to a friend as "wandering through the last century of American music." The major drawback? I've added to my list of music to look for and it really doesn't need to be any longer! Have you read any other good books on music lately?
